Born and brought up in Yorkshire, I now live in Fife, Scotland. I enjoyed drawing and painting from an early age, and gained a degree in Art History from Clare College, Cambridge University. I spent a year on an arts and crafts course in Norway, and subsequently ran a craft knitwear business for 15 years, before returning to my early love for painting.
Working from home, I fit my art around family life, am a member of Visual Arts Scotland and I also exhibit periodically at 3D2D Art, Craft and Design events.
My preferred medium is watercolour; I enjoy the challenge of finding a balance between control and letting pigment and water 'find their own way'. I am passionately interested in nature and the environment, which provide the inspiration for my work. I particularly enjoy painting 'wilderness' landscapes and wildlife, and the sea, but local woods, plants and insects also provide limitless ideas for paintings.

A super set of paintings, Liz. How did your show at Artis33 go?
ReplyDeleteHi Ken, thanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteThe exhibition was a bit quiet, just a couple of sales. Seems a long time ago now!
I haven't been an active member of the club for a while now - maybe this will be the year I get involved again!
